The Correct Pronunciation and meaning of the WANCHER! ワンチャー

Many of the English speakers are asking us why this funny name WANCHER and its meaning.

Honestly I dont know what it means in English and why it is funny in English as my English is not that good!!

But when I asked my English speaking friends especially from UK they said it is a bad word and

they pronounce it as WANCHER( Ch--as K)

So I ask the Wancher brand designers about it and the answer was as below from them:

the correct Japanese way pronouncing is different with different meaning.

The correct pronunciation of the name is WANCHER  (  CH as in Chair).

Meaning ワンチャー is an ancient Japanese-Chinese word;  the direct English translation is hard

to explain but here I translated the English to my best

The devotion and achievement of the goal involving everyone irrespective of borders while

sticking to the roots.

I was also surprised to know it. I hope this helps!

WANCHER Fortitude Airforce Pilot Chronograph 20JW Tachymeter Automatic luminous Watch

About WANCHER Fortitude
Fortitude means the strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or any challenge.
Inspired from this concept, WANCHER has applied for this Fortitude Watch series.
An Airforce Pilot watch: the dial is same as the airforce figther jet dashboard.
Pilots always need the exact and accurate time. WANCHER always strive hard to make the watch with mechanical movement and maximum accurancy.
In the quartz system the electronic watch can be accurate by the batteries but in mechanical watch, the accuracy is very difficult to achieve and thats why WANCHER team take this challenge to make the best accuracy and the best movements.
In mechanical watches because mechanical watches are the best watches to use with lot of fun and old memoeries.
2 Dial eyes
This WANCHER Fortitude Watch has 2 eyes for Minutes and Seconds.
You will never loose track of time with this WANCHER Sun Watch Series.
Chronograph System with Movement 2901
A chronograph is a specific type of watch that is used as a stopwatch combined with a display watch. A basic chronograph has an independent sweep second hand; it can be started, stopped, and returned to zero by successive pressure on the stem.
WANCHER Addition Watch has the extra subdialsm and the buttons (pushers) on the side of the case. These pushers start, stop, and reset the timing function, while the rest of the watch runs as usual.
This Chronograph Watch Mechanism can be used for both men and women as every watch lover, regarless their gender, can have huge knowledge about technical aspects of watches.
Power Reserve Indicator
Power Reserve Indicator (originally called Réserve de Marche) is a complication of the watch, which is designed to show the amount of remaining stored energy. The power reserve indicator indicates the tension on the mainspring at any particular moment.
Power Reserve System Function
The power reserve indicator is one of the most useful features of a mechanical watch besides the actual time display. The mechanical watch operated either by automatic- or manual winding. In order to run at a regular rate a mechanical timepiece needs to have at least 30 per cent of its mainspring wound. An automatic timepiece needs to be worn for about 10–15 hours before it is fully wound.
The power reserve indicator displayed on the watch with automatic- winding movement shows how long a watch will function when not worn. The one displayed at a watch with the manual winding mechanism shows the time left for its next winding
Self Winding Mechanism - Automatic Mechanical Movement
The movement must be accurate, reliable, take the shock of firing a gun and throwing a punch, be relatively temperature stable, automatic, and anti-magnetic.
Each click wheel consists of a perimeter gear, a central gear, and, in the middle of the central gear, a fixed smaller gear.
The perimeter gear has ratchet pawls around the inside. The central gear has sloping teeth around its circumference that engage with the ratchet pawls around the inside of the perimeter gear to act as a “one-way” clutch. When the left click wheel assembly is rotated counter clockwise by the clockwise movement of the master gear it will turn the central gear, turning the upper gear in a clockwise direction. However, when the master gear rotates counter clockwise the left perimeter gear will turn clockwise, this will not engage the central gear but, the left perimeter gear will turn the right perimeter gear counter clockwise, engaging the right central gear and again, turn the upper gear in the same clockwise direction. This mechanism allows the rotor (connected to the master gear) to swing in either way or still wind the watch in a clockwise direction.
Tachymeter
Tachymeter is actually a tool used to compute speed based on travel time over a fixed distance travelled (like one mile or one kilometer). Thus, the tachymeter bezel or dial is a logarithmic scale (actually it’s not, as spacings between the marks on the tachymeter dial are proportional to 1/t where t is the elapsed time) that simplifies the computation of speed of an object, by computing the following function:
Tachymeter Dial = 3600 / Elapsed Time In Seconds

WANCHER Innovative Cifra Zero Fighter One Hand Automatic Mechanical Watch NEW ARRIVAL COLOR- WHITE

About Zero Fighter Edition
This watch is inspired form the Japans most famous innovation of the ZERO FIGTHER PLANE which was made in the WW2.

When it was introduced early in World War II, the Zero was considered the most capable carrier-based fighter in the world, combining excellent maneuverability and very long range. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a legendary reputation as a dogfighter, achieving the outstanding kill ratio of 12 to 1, but by mid-1942 a combination of new tactics and the introduction of better equipment enabled the Allied pilots to engage the Zero on generally equal terms.
The Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service ("IJNAS") also frequently used the type as a land-based fighter.
By 1943, inherent design weaknesses and the failure to develop more powerful aircraft engines meant that the Zero became less effective against newer enemy fighters, which possessed greater firepower, armor, and speed, and approached the Zero's maneuverability. Although the Mitsubishi A6M was outdated by 1944, design delays and production difficulties of newer Japanese aircraft types meant that it continued to serve in a front line role until the end of the war.
During the final years of the War in the Pacific, the Zero was also adapted for used in kamikaze operations. During the course of the war, the Japanese produced more Zeros than any other model aircraft.
Inspiration of the Cifra design
The cifra design came into existence based on the inspiration of the oldest clock in the world, which was believed to be the sun and shadow clock used in the subcontinent which is now India with the blend of our Japan culture.
The sun and shadow was used to measure the length of the day and night and calculated the time accordingly.
The Cifra designers got huge inspiration from and therefore it has very special characteristics related to this olden measurement of the time.  Step by step it will be explained in detail in order to understand the science of our new design.
Cifra Meaning
Cifra means the number 0 which ultimately leads us to the space where there is no end to the time and also our dreams.
This leads us to the space where the number 0 gravity is used a lot.
We at Wancher also think that the our life and dreams should be endless with no limitation same as our watch
Cifra Japan silent culture with Space, Cosmos feeling:
Japan has a very silent culture and we have seen some Japan ancient products exclusively describing and depiction the silent culture of the Japan through them.
The same concept goes to our Cifra watch too, this watch has only 1 hand to show the time, which is so silent, also expressing the space where everything seems to be stopped but actually the universe is running into its orbits. From our Cifra design you may enjoy the Japan silent culture with the space terminology of 0 gravity.
The cosmos has always been considered the better place to test the time of the watch.
Special Mineral Sapphire Glass
The glass used is high quality mineral glass which is soluble making it very special and extreme clarity.Mineral glass is ordinary tempered glass made from silica. It is more scratch resistant than Plexiglass which is a plastic also used for watch crystals.
The most scratch resistant crystals are usually mineral glass coated with synthetic Sapphire. This glass also gives the crystal dome like structure which makes the wearer easy to use an see the time clearly from any angle.
Special Sharp index
The Cifra watch has a very sharp and fine needle arrow to show the time correctly from any angle and the glass and needle makes it so easy to read that even from the top or bottom angle you will see the time exactly proper as if the needle in on the time.
Time calculation
The center hand is of the minute. Each bar on the minute represents the 10 mins. So every minute the hand will move to its one place ahead and the inner numbers are of the Hours.
For example: if the hand is on the index 13 then it is 1o clock. If that hands move to the next index then it is 1oclock 10 mins.
Case material
The case is made of the high brass material.
If you see in the Mend levees period table, brass is not found I nature, it is a mixture of the 2 or more different metals such as Copper ( Cu) and Zinc (Zn). This composition has the chemical property of the making the material smooth and also it well matches with human skins causing no irritation on the wrist hands.

Zogan - Pearl Inlay Engraved Series

Sakura and River of Time Edition

Black Body Iridium Point Nib

Fountain Pen

Zogan - Handmade Pearl Inlay Engraving Process
Zogan (in Japanese), or also known as Damascene, a metal inlaid manufacturing process, is a traditional Japanese Handcraft with a long history.
Originally developed from Ishikawa prefecture, Zogan  is the art of inlaying different metals into one another—typically, gold or silver into a darkly oxidized steel background—to produce intricate patterns similar to niello. The English term comes from a perceived resemblance to the rich tapestry patterns of damask silk.
Throughout the long history, Zogan was used to decorate Katana fittings and many other high class weapons.
However, the history has seen a blow to the Zogan industry. In the ninth year of the Meiji Restoration, that was the introduction of laws forbidding the ownership of weapons, especially katanas. Instead of halting their manufacturing wayof-life, the Zogan refocused their energy and skills to produce fine personal ornamentation, including fountain pen.
1200 year-history of Inlay Tradition-  the Proud of Kyoto
Types of Zogan - Japanese Inlay Engraving
Line Inlay (Referred to thread inlay, also with wire inlay)The oldest technique, lower-carved grooves in the flea on the surface of the iron and copper, and flatten fit by hitting a line of gold and silver in the groove. The large blade of a burial mound excavated, collar, saddle bridge and pommel in (saddle tree), and etc.
Flat inlayLower-carved flat surface such as copper, is fitted Taira-kin of the gold and silver thin (Hiragane), and a plane with less edge.
Grain inlayThe craftsmen put the muscle of fine grain horizontally and vertically using a chisel to the surface such as iron, copper, fitting the line and Taira-kin of gold and silver.
Technique that is used in Japan and Spain currently. Entered the 13th century, grain inlay is transmitted to Spain via Egypt database from Damascus, and remains in the Toledo City today, Japanese tourists have been come to buy well as a souvenir.
Toledo City is where Toledo kingdom, flourished as the capital of Spain until the 16th century and then to the 11th century - 8th century.
High meat inlay (referred as installation text inlay)Technique to make out from the convex surface of the metal in the high meat gold and silver crowded house.
It is not made with little manufacturing costs because of expensive material.
Steps of making Zogan - Japanese Pearl Inlay
(1) Grain cutting (Nunomekiri)
Is fixed to the bench of the dough soft iron, ticks away groove (about 200 Jo in one mm square) finely vertically and horizontally as grain on the surface of the dough iron chisel.
There is some mechanization in recent years)
(2) Into the block (nyugan)
The Ategai on top of the grain across with tweezers (0.07 mm 0.15 mm position ~) line pure gold, sterling silver, and Yuki draw a pattern while driving with a small hammer. Also placed on top of the grain (0.02 mm 0.04 mm position-thickness) Taira-kin pure gold, sterling silver, and Yuki devoted with a hammer while cutting the shape of the pattern in the cut chisel. When finished put the pattern, ensure that it makes good contact without disturbing the gold and silver in bites in the groove completely without hitting ten thousand side at the corner of deer.
(3) Corrosion
You corrode the surface of iron by immersion in sulfuric acid and nitric acid, which is washed with soda iron cloth which Nyuhama, you diluted. Only the portion of the pattern is left slightly higher gold and silver because not aggression in acid.
(4) Take out, rust, rust
Fine rust appears on the surface of the iron and repeat the step of applying with a brush chloride ammonia is taken out in about two hours each were placed in a rust box was increased humidity iron fabric finished Nyuhama, corrosion, to dry out by heating . To the rust by tannins when the rust came out moderately, boiled and soaked in green tea are included. Lacquer ware the following adhere well by this process, The craftsman brings out the luster of gold and silver lacquer becomes matte.
(5) Lacquer ware (Urushiyaki)
Baked and painted with a brush the Roiro lacquer or lacquer to iron cloth that was rust, it will be black graceful lofty inlay peculiar that does not peel off easily twice, and repeat three times.
(6) Scraped
Pattern appears clearly Bokusumi If you (Ho-zumi) decodes the corrosion on it by the previous step, part of the gold and silver put a pattern because it becomes a little higher. Gold and silver shines brilliantly when polish by rubbing with a spatula of strong carbon steel further.
(7) Hair carving (Kebori)
You can subjected to fine hair carved in the surface of the chisel Taira-kin of gold and silver polished, and finish by issuing a three-dimensional impression in the part matte.
Features of Zogan - Japanese Pearl Inlay Damascening
With Japanese Pearl Inlay Zogan techniques, skillful craftsmen use a special fine tip of engraving. This makes the Japanese engraving very fine and able to make very minor detail of inlay engraving.
This technique also gives the engraving the durability and stability. Engraving with low-quality techniques may have some disappointing results, as the engraved pieces may fall off after some time or strong impacts. With Zogan - Japanese Inlay, it is very vey hard and almost impossible to peel off the engraved pieces from the background thanks to the very fine tip of engraving the craftsmen used. All engraved pearl pieces are positioned very tight and strong in the background.

I have written the research Paper on the Silk Road Urushi Makie art Origin. So please do read below my findings and research about it.
I will be thankful if you leave your feedback on it!

The Very Special Urushi Makie technique from the ancient silk road

My Journey:
This time we have bought a very ancient art craft of the urushi makie technique from the ancient Silk Road.
We always go for the treasure hunting of the hidden art forms in different countries. Thanks to the internet and the social networks our hunt of the different worlds art form is becoming a reality in very short time.

When I was in Shanghai in few years ago to see some exhibit of the famous Chinese contemporary art I had a news feed on my weibo ( Chinese social network) about the new discovers of the hidden art forms in the Xian county North of china. Who knew that this small news feed led me to go all around the North to find this infamous ancient makie art form and to present in front of you all.
As we all know the famous terracotta army of Qing dynasty dated around 210BC was discovered long time back in the Xian. After that there have been many small but very crucial discoveries of the Qing dynasty the oldest Courtyard of China.
So I didn’t turn a single stone head and went all along to the North to see the new discoveries.
In this new discovery, I found there were some utensils of ancient art form which proves that the Chinese civilization was long time using pots, and other utensils to cook food and also there were significant discovery that they may used oil in cooking too according to the stains on the pot.
After close examination by my archegeloist friend, we noted that there is some kind of art form on the pots too. He was a great help for me as we overcame the language barrier we had before. But as these pots and utensils were buried under the royal courtyard sight it suggests that these cooking pots and utensils were used for the Royal family and there was some significant art form of the painting on it too. The rich painting was one form of the urushi lacquer as the sal of the lacquer were damaged and crippled alongside. I finally decided to stay in the Xian for more days to start my journey to find more about the urushi art form lacquer work in china and its significance. For time being I didn’t know how and dint wanted to decide my days as I was more focused on its contents. My quench for this knowledge was insatiable and day by day I was becoming voracious. Whatever bits of information I could collect was a major part for my research.
As days past I collected lot of information, running around libraries where old library care takers constant look and stares on a foreigner was grew as a habit for me every day.

After strenuous work of finding, I was quite surprised that the Chinese urushi lacquer art work was one of the ancient art work which flourished much before the silk road trade route. The Royal family used them in all possible ways to dominate the royal status and the art work was forbidden for the banal. The art work also gave the understanding of the ancient Chinese civilization craftsmanship, their richness, their kingdoms power.
Now the process of the connection dots I wanted to connect about my previous research on the urushi lacquer makie art form of the Japan and Vietnam was also roaring in my head. I cannot rest until I was convinced with the proper evidence of these dots has to be connected and its roots all lies in the ancient Chinese civilization. I would like to explain to you in the below simple diagram.

From the chart above I want to explain the flow of the urushi lacquer makie art from its origin.

China as the main origin root of the urushi lacquer makie where various artists made different design inspired by the ancient Chinese civilization. Later this famous art form travelled to various parts of the world by the merchants and traders in order to impress and satisfy the other kingdoms art form.
In Japan, the merchants carried it to the royal courtyard of Japan and thus in mean course of time it changed, the ancient Chinese design changed to the Japanese design. The more inspiration from the root made the design to blend with the local designs according to the kings and Queens and other royal family taste.
It also travelled to Vietnam inspiring the art form and then blending into their own cultural form.
Later this art went to Europe from the Vietnam and Japan route but not direct from China.
Isnt this amazing to know that this old art from travelled different parts of the world in very different way through different channels.

The next interesting thing is that this art may have travelled to other parts of the world through different channels which I have yet to explore and know it. I am sure it has travelled and still flourishing in different parts of the world too, for this I need the proper more research, more travel and more discoveries of the world art form.
Thus this journey is still not finished, I’m on the hunt in order to find, explore the hidden puzzles which are not yet solved which I am sure you will find it interesting.

Silk Road:
As we all know the famous silk road was the trading path from the East to West trading not only commodities but the various different culture and art too.
The Silk road has influenced a lot of art form from different civilization and the world’s most ancient art form has its roots here too.
The Silk Road map below demonstrates the trade path road connecting different civilization and culture, in today’s modern day we call them as countries or nations.

The background of the urushi makie origin city:
Xi'an  is the capital of Shaanxi province, and a sub-provincial city in the People's Republic of China. One of the oldest cities in China, with more than 3,100 years of history, the city was known as Chang'an before the Ming dynasty. Xi'an is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang.

Let us get into the more details of this famous art form which originated in the starting point of the silk road. You will be surprised to you that even in this generation this makie art has been done.

Handmade Makie technique
There are various steps the urushi art makie gets finally lacquered in your pen, tea bows and pen trays etc.
1)   The Sal extraction:
The sal from the tree has to be taken out in order to make the lacquer.
This removal of lacquer requires strength, power and also the knowledge of the tree. Not any of the tress the sal can be extracted, only special trees can give the sal and this requires knowledge in order to extract it.
2)   The Sal seed formation:

The sal gums extracted from the tress are converted into the seeds forms and then into the fin granules in order to match with the paint and mix with it to apply on the surface of the pen.

3) Applying of the lacquer
The lacquer has to be applied and painted in very meticulous way. This requires very high skills not nay one can make it. Under the artists immense hard training for long years this technique can be mastered and thus the lacquer form can be put into it.

4)The drying of the lacquer:
The most time consuming steps in the urushi lacquer making.
The drying of the lacquer is all handmade. The drying can be done by machines in order to shorten the time period of the production and also increase the production. But this art form of XIAN --No machines are used as the artists wants to give the exact old silk road art form of the urushi to the pens. They want to preserve the old art form of it and drying is done under the sun for long time no matter how long it takes as the natural drying helps the lacquer pigment to absorb in the pen bodies slowly and firmly making them more intense in color, brightness and shape with the help of the Sunlight.
5)   The painting :
This also needs proper care as what has to be painted on the pen. Not any picture get painted. Each paint and color and the tip of the brush touching the pens surface in order to make the urushi lacquer makie pens has to depict a message, a story , a noble message to the fellow members of the different civilization. This was practiced in the ancient silk raod traed and the Emperors of different civilization and cultures liked this art not because of its marvelous techniques and beauty but also because it gave them the message, the understanding of the different culture, civilization and acknowledging the different people and implementing them into their own civilization for better development and understanding the human emotions too.

6)   The polishing:
The polishing is also a very important step at the end to make the art form glitter like gold. They use the Charcoal powder to polish and not the modern days sand paper to polish.  The charcoal powder was used in the ancient times of the silk road trade and it was very fine form of the technique which many artists could not understand easily unless trained a special manner. This process gives the lacquer a new luster and makes it so firm in order to not get washed off or peeled off by any other forms of water of liquid.
7)   The final art form:
After the intense hard work on 1 piece and taking care from its start process of lacquer hunting, applying, drying, painting the final art form gets to displayed by the royal courtyard in order to acknowledge and expose them to the common man to understand the art form and develop different skills. That is the reason display is important in order to show and appeal and empathize.
